SIR ALUMNI CJ Caserta - 149 (Stevens Tech.) Wins 2011 Roger Williams Invitational. Winning all five bouts he wrestled in. Caserta was victorious in his first round match by a fall in 5:40. He then recorded a major decision win in the second round, 13-0, and followed that up with another fall in the quarter finals, 1:46. Caserta tallied decision victories in his final two bouts, 3-2, and 5-1, respectively to win the 149lb weight class.

Chris Burdge of Centenary College of New Jersey has been named d3wrestle.com Freshman of the Year for 2010-2011.

According to the amateur wrestling website devoted to NCAA Division III, Burdge, a 157-pound freshman, earned his starting spot in the Centenary lineup late in the season... but made an impact by upsetting the No. 2 seed in the Metro Conference tournament to make the finals. As a conference runner-up, the Newton, N.J. native earned a wildcard slot at the 2011 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships. At the NCAAs in La Crosse, Wis., Burdge pinned the top-seeded Derek Brenon of Ithaca, advancing to the quarterfinals. After a close loss to eventual champ Dan Twito of the Merchant Marine Academy, Burdge defeated conference foe Eduardo Delgado of Hunter to place eighth in the 157 weight class, and earn All-American honors in his first year of college competition.
Burdge is a graduate of Kittatinny High School in New Jersey, where compiled a 127-19 career high school record. He is one of three returning qualifiers on a Centenary team that finished in 13th place at the NCAA Championships and is the defending Metro Conference team champions.

133 lbs - Returning Champion Will Livingston defended his title by knocking off Dan Herr of TCNJ by a score of 10-3. Qualifying for the second straight year for the NCAA Division III National Tournament, where he placed 3rd last year.  Centenary's first All American will enter the NCAA's as the #1 seed.




Rookie of the Year, Chris Burdge of Centenary will also be heading to the NCAA D III National Tournament. 157 lbs - Burdge placed second at the Metropolitan Conference Tournament, earning him a wild card slot.
